RA National Academy of Sciences “Gitutyun” Publisher, Yerevan

[in Armenian]

This is a study of Armenian repatriation/immigration in which the subject matter, for the first time, is approached from a genealogical perspective. The immigration process and its peculiarities, from stage to stage, are discussed. The book also takes a look how immigrants and local residents perceived one another in terms of language, lifestyle, etc, and what, if any connections they shared. The work looks at the difficulties immigrants had in terms of adapting and integrating into a new environment and how their identities changed as a result. The lessons to be learnt from the immigration process are summarized and an attempt to evaluate its role and significance is made.
