We, members of the “Safarian” group, were eight. From the panting of the life forced upon us young Safarians who immigrated to the homeland in 1946, were born the professional thief and involuntary murderer, the very talented camera operator and teacher, the security colonel and high-ranking political official, the law-breaking merchant and the brilliant exile. This was a true slice of life, a handful of history, during which each of us, amidst the torturous conditions of survival, performed superhuman feats to manifest our personality.
